Schools Are Closing, The Dollar is Falling!

Schools Are Closing! Schools Are Closing! Schools Are Closing! 40-50% of American schools are planning to be closed all over the United States. Our government is closing the doors on our already neglected and over-crowded public schools. Right before our eyes we are witnessing the intentional meltdown of our economical system which will leave you broke and enslaved on a level you have never seen before as prophesied if you don’t wake up! The elite are pulling their dollars out of the United States economy and this is being witnessed on multiple fronts and levels including the closing of public schools. What nerve! We should be outraged and should not be sitting idly by accepting the fate the government has for us. Trillions have been given to international bankers, the richest people in the world, people who never miss a meal, but they have the nerve to shut our schools down because of deficits! Wake up people! You are being played! These people will soon be dropping the dollar. Schools closing is just a prelude to the disaster that is about to take place. No one is preparing you for the day the dollar falls! No one! Our government certainly isn’t! They can care less about you but believe me they are planning for their futures and continuation of life. Imagine, the day when your dollar no longer has value. What will you do? No food, clothing, housing, transportation, there will be total chaos in the streets and believe me when this happens you better believe the troops will be on their way in and millions will die by the hands of our government. If you don’t know this piece of history let me inform you. People die by the hands of the states more than any other unnatural death. This is a fact! Look at the richest countries in the world turned 3rd world due to the states. Mass murder by the states has been taking place for centuries by tyrannical governments. Our government is no different. You have been given an illusion of a democracy but that is all it is, an illusion masking the real powers that control the entire White House including our president. These people are not playing, they mean business and so should you! These people kill like it’s a hobby! Women and children are dying around the world everyday! You just don’t know about it because they keep you occupied with mess that simply does not matter! Turn off the television and educate yourself and don’t expect them to! Their educational and news system suck! You are being warned! We still have time. This does not have to be our destiny. Join us in this movement to secure what is rightfully ours! All my Sisters and Brothers who believe in good and evil, God and Satan! Please Wake up! Peace!!

Growing Trend of School Closings in the U.S.A. Shocking and Sets Dangerous Precedent

Posted by Harriet Cammock | Thursday, March 11, 2010 | View Comments

Growing trend of school closings in the United States alarming and sets a bad precedent. Kansas City joins the fray with 29 school closures.

All over the country, there appears to be a growing trend of closing schools, with Kansas City being the latest to close 29 of 61 schools. It is particularly pervasive in poor-performing black school districts. The rising tide of these closures does not auger well for students who live in and around these communities. The schools though poor performing in the national averages in subjects like Math, Science, and English should not be closed. If the districts offer alternatives such as transporting children to nearby schools, then hopefully test scores will improve. However the school districts do not appear to be offering viable alternatives. What is wrong with this picture?

Where are educated African-Americans? Why aren’t we letting our voices be heard. Are we really going to sit by idly and watch as the advances of the Civil Rights Movement and its message of equality for all be left in the hands of uncaring Administrators who are more concerned about lining their pockets at the end of the day and protecting their own turf? Are we really going to forget that education was how we crossed over? Are we not going to engage in a silent movement of writing, blogging and emailing and speaking using the various platforms we have been privileged to have been given as a a result of our education? These children have no voice. And as far as I can see will not have a voice in the future as their right to education has been determined by Administrators of school districts who are more concerned about budget and budget deficits?

The argument that the economy has contracted is not good enough. Here in Michigan, we have been faced with the same situation. Law makers ought to find ways of making sure that education is just as important as raising taxes on cigarettes and petroleum consumption. Education has to be a priority.

We need to fight back. Use the tools you have been given. Email, blog, write letters to the editors of your local and county newspapers. Contact your county executive state representative, congressman, Senator, etc. and let your voices be heard. Fight for these children. Remember Each One Need one, Each One Teach One, Each One Feed One. Let your voice and opinion be heard by state legislators, county board officials. Do it today. The children of tomorrow deserve a solid education.

All 2,000 Providence teachers told they could be fired

By Liz Goodwin

Providence, Rhode Island Mayor Angel Taveras is sending layoff warnings to all 1,926 of the city’s teachers.

They won’t all be dismissed, but state law requires the city to notify teachers by March 1 whether the district could lay them off before the start of the next school year. School officials say warning every teacher gives them the freedom to let go many of them later without having to single any of them out now.

Providence’s school district is facing a $40 million budget shortfall next year.

“Are there going to be less teachers? Yes,” Taveras told The Providence Journal. “Will there be less schools open next year? Yes. Do I know which teachers and which schools? No.”

As you can imagine, the local teachers’ union is not taking the news well.

“This is beyond insane,” Providence Teachers Union President Steve Smith told The Providence Journal’s Linda Borg. “Let’s create the most chaos and the highest level of anxiety in a district where teachers are already under unbelievable stress. Now I know how the United States State Department felt on Dec. 7, 1941.”

Meanwhile, 106 teachers got pink slips in nearby Central Falls Public School District. Only 11 of those teachers will be fired due to poor performance, according to GoLocalProv.

Central Falls High School, one of the worst performing schools in the state, became a battleground of the education reform movement last year, when the superintendent threatened to fire its entire teaching staff after the union wouldn’t agree to a longer school day, after-school tutoring, and a new evaluation system without much extra pay. Teachers argued that the area’s poverty, not their lack of effort, was responsible for low test scores. Education Secretary Arne Duncan applauded the decision to force the teachers to do more work or lose their jobs.

Providence isn’t the only town downsizing its school system. In an unprecedented move, the city of Detroit is planning on closing half of its 142 schools by 2014 in an effort to close its budget deficit.

Mass layoffs of public workers have become more common as city and state tax revenues have plunged during the recession. The mayor of Fall River, Mass. fired nearly 150 city employees in 2009, after two big companies in the town, Quaker Fabric and A.J. Wright, laid off almost 3,000 people in 2007. And the tiny city of Maywood, Calif. laid off every one of its employees last year and instead moved to an outsourcing contract system to save money.
